About Christopher Freeman

My Journey to Life Coaching

I’ve spent my life caught between feeling like too much and not enough. As an artist, deep thinker, and sensitive human, I found my footing in music—and to my surprise, that path led me into unexpected leadership roles within large church communities. I’m not what you’d call conventional, but I quickly discovered my ability to create space for others, especially those who felt misunderstood or marginalized.

Music opened doors, but presence—not performance—became my greatest offering. Over time, I came to understand how much people long for healing, safety, and honest connection. That awareness led me to pursue life coaching, focusing on spiritual development, identity transitions, and community formation. My background in faith, leadership, and healing continues to shape my work today.

My Coaching Philosophy

Exploration Over Advice

I believe true growth comes from discovering your own wisdom—not just applying someone else’s. As an ICF-trained coach, I prioritize your voice and insight. Our work begins with deep listening, thoughtful questions, and space for curiosity. That’s how self-trust is built—by hearing yourself more clearly.

Everything Is Accountable to Psychology and Neurobiology

My approach is informed by emotional regulation and nervous system science. I help clients notice when they’re bypassing pain or defaulting to old narratives—especially in spiritual or high-performance contexts. And if we reach material best addressed in therapy, I’ll support you in finding that care.

In my work with my clients, I work intentionally to observe when this is happening and bring it to attention in nonthreatening ways, so we don’t miss major opportunities for positive change. Saying that, if it’s an area that feels too much for you to address (aka sets your nervous system on fire) or is more appropriate for a clinical therapist, we will change course (for the former) or I will refer you to the appropriate support (for the later).

Real Connection, Real Growth

Coaching with me is grounded in genuine connection. While I honor professional boundaries, I don’t believe in being a blank slate. People don’t grow from neutrality—they grow in relationships that feel real. When appropriate, I may share reflections or stories from my own life—not to shift the focus, but to create resonance, offer perspective, or help you feel less alone. This kind of mutual, intentional vulnerability can build trust, open insight, and accelerate healing. You don’t have to do this work with someone who feels distant. I’ll meet you human to human.

A Dynamic, Adaptive Process

I don’t use a one-size-fits-all method. Each client relationship is co-created and responsive. Some sessions are more structured, while others follow the thread of what’s alive in the moment. Together, we follow the energy, the emotion, and the insight wherever it leads—because that’s where transformation lives.

What Makes Me and My Coaching Unique

Peer Support

I’ve lived through spiritual disorientation, cancer, and major life reinvention—and those seasons gave me more than resilience. They taught me how healing works from the inside out. My clients often say they feel a sense of ease and recognition in our work together—not because our stories match, but because they know I’m not asking them to go anywhere I haven’t had to go myself.

Interdisciplinary, Integrative, and Human

My approach weaves together threads from  coaching science, leadership, psychology, philosophy, and spirituality (per the client’s lead). I’m not here to compartmentalize your growth—I’m here to honor the messy intersections. Whether we’re talking about belief systems, personal transitions, or emotional regulation, I aim to meet you with both nuance and compassion.

Coaching the Whole Person

I don’t see people as projects to fix—I see them as layered, expanse-oriented beings longing to live with greater clarity and coherence. My coaching is rooted in honoring every part of who you are: the intellectual, the emotional, the relational, the somatic, and the spiritual. Our work will be wide-lens, integrative, and grounded in your real life—not abstract ideals.

This means that during our time together, we will:

  • Create a Comprehensive Life Map: We explore all areas of the your life to identify patterns, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Set Holistic Goals: Objectives are established that consider the interplay between different life aspects.
  • Develop Integrated Strategies: Action plans are designed to create positive changes that resonate across various life domains.
  • Monitor Ripple Effects: We carefully observe how changes in one area impact others, adjusting our approach as needed.

Who I Work With

From college students to senior leaders, I work with humans and systems to go deep, live honestly, and grow with intention. Whether you’re deconstructing faith, navigating life changes, or wanting to show up more fully in life or leadership, I’m here to support your journey.

Let’s explore what’s next—together.

What Is Life Coaching and How Can It Help?

Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused relationship that creates space for clarity, insight, and meaningful change. It’s not about having someone hand you answers—it’s about having someone walk alongside you as you discover them for yourself.

Some key elements of coaching include:

  • Personalized support from a trained coach who listens deeply, reflects what they see, and helps you connect the dots in your own life.

  • Powerful questions and grounded observations that help you explore what really matters to you.

  • Tools and techniques designed to support your unique process, goals, and pace—never a one-size-fits-all formula.

  • A focus on self-discovery over advice, encouraging your inner wisdom to emerge rather than directing you toward someone else’s idea of success.

  • Space for deep reflection and accountability, where challenges are explored, goals are mapped, and progress is celebrated with intention.

  • A partnership that’s different from therapy, consulting, or mentoring—coaching is less about treatment or expertise, and more about presence, curiosity, and shared momentum.

  • Emphasis on the present and future—who you are now, who you’re becoming, and how to move forward with more confidence and alignment.

  • A commitment to serving your values and worldview, not nudging you toward the coach’s preferences or path.

While no coach is completely unbiased, the best ones are committed to honoring your autonomy and lived experience. A great coach is motivated by curiosity, grounded in psychology and emotional wellbeing, and always centered on what you want out of life.

Why Choose Coaching?

  • Gain clarity and direction:
Coaching helps you uncover what matters most—your values, priorities, and vision—so you can move forward with confidence.

  • Identify and overcome internal roadblocks:
We’ll explore the beliefs, patterns, or fears that might be holding you back, and gently challenge what no longer serves you.

  • Stay accountable to your goals:
Coaching provides structure, encouragement, and the kind of accountability that feels supportive, not shame-based.

  • Create practical action plans:
Together, we’ll build strategies that help you close the gap between where you are and where you want to be—without losing your soul in the process.

  • Get a fresh, nonjudgmental perspective:
Unlike the noise of advice from friends or social media, coaching offers a grounded, client-centered lens to help you sift through your thoughts with clarity.

  • Build confidence and self-trust:
You’ll learn to recognize your own strengths, listen to your own voice, and take steps that align with your integrity—not just your obligations.

  • Navigate transitions with support
Whether you’re shifting careers, rethinking relationships, or finding your way through a major life change, coaching helps you move with intention, not just reaction.

When I'm Not Coaching

Music will always be my first love. I play sitar and guitar, and compose meditative and ambient soundscapes that help me stay grounded and inspired. Mornings often begin with music, meditation, and a bit of yoga (thanks to my wife!).

I also love traveling, especially after selling most of our stuff to live nomadically for a year. These days, I’m hooked on expanding my worldview and simplifying my life.

At heart, I’m a vintage video game nerd, a cocktail enthusiast, and a vinyl collector. But nothing compares to my love for my wife, kids, and adorable husky/shepherd mix. They are my compass and my joy.
